Pricing

Priced on grid capacity, not seat count

GridKern pricing scales with the size of the grid you're managing, not the number of analysts who look at a dashboard. Three tiers cover distributions from 200 MW to multi-GW transmission operators.

Distribution

For cooperatives and municipal utilities managing up to 500 MW peak load with up to 6 feeder zones.

FAQ

Pricing questions operators ask

What counts as a "feeder zone"?

A feeder zone is any independently modeled load area that receives its own forecast output — typically corresponding to a substation bus or distribution feeder group. We count the zones in your configured model, not physical feeders in your network.

Do you charge per API call?

No. Forecast API calls are included in the subscription at the documented rate limit (1,000 req/min for Regional tier). Excess capacity can be negotiated under Transmission pricing.

What's the minimum contract term?

12 months, after the 30-day pilot period. Month-to-month arrangements are available at a 20% premium and are common during regulatory approval processes.

What happens during the 30-day pilot?

We import your historical interval data, train the model on the first 80% of it, and evaluate against the last 20%. You see the actual MAPE, MAE, and P90 interval width against your own load data. No vendor-supplied benchmarks.

Can we self-host for NERC CIP compliance?

Yes. The Transmission tier includes containerized deployment in your OT network segment. We provide Docker Compose manifests and document the external dependencies — the platform can operate without internet access after initial deployment.

How is pricing set for the Transmission tier?

Based on total managed capacity (GW), number of feeder zones, and whether on-premises deployment or dedicated implementation support is required. We send a fixed-fee proposal within five business days of a scoping call.

Measure accuracy before you buy

Send us your SCADA interval export. We run the 30-day accuracy trial and deliver a written report with MAPE, MAE, and interval precision numbers specific to your grid.
